VPA Marine Engineer Recruitment 2025 – Overview

Vacancy Details

Total vacancies: 01 Marine Engineer (contractual engagement). Vacancy is provisionally notified for OBC category and may vary per VPA requirements.

Eligibility Criteria

• Essential Qualification: MOT 1st Class Motor Certificate issued under the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958.
• Experience: Minimum one year post-qualification experience as Chief Engineer or 2nd Engineer on board a foreign-going ship.
• Role: Work in Marine Department (F.C. Section) supervising operation & maintenance of tugs, dredgers, floating crane and high-powered launches as per VPA terms.
• Nationality/Medical: Must meet eligibility and be medically fit as certified by the Port Hospital Chief Medical Officer before joining.

Age Criteria

• Minimum Age: 40 years (as on date of walk-in).
• Maximum Age: 58 years (as on date of walk-in).
• Engagement subject to medical fitness certified by the VPA CMO.

Selection Process

• Report for walk-in interview on 17-12-2025 at 10:00 AM.
• Verification of original certificates and two sets of photocopies; CV in prescribed proforma.
• Shortlisting for interview; fulfilling minimum qualification does not guarantee interview call.
• VPA reserves the right to cancel/modify the process without assigning any reason.

How to Apply (Walk-in)

1. Download/read the employment notification and application proforma from VPA website or use the proforma appended to the notification.
2. Fill the application proforma in English block letters and prepare CV with two recent passport photographs.
3. Bring original MOT certificate, experience certificates, academic/technical qualifications and two sets of self-attested photocopies.
4. If employed, bring No Objection Certificate and vigilance/administrative clearance from present employer (if required).
5. Report at: 1st Floor, Room No.136, Administrative Office Building, Port Area, Visakhapatnam Port Authority, Visakhapatnam – 530035 on 17-12-2025 by 10:00 AM.
