Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) is an institution of national importance and a statutory body established by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, under the auspices of UNESCO as a Category II Centre. RCB is entrusted by DBT, Government of India to manage key Human Resource Development programmes through its DBT-HRD Project Management Unit (PMU). These programmes include the Ramalingaswami Re-entry Fellowship, Junior Research Fellowship, Post-Graduate Teaching Programme, DBT Research Associateship, Biotech Industrial Training Program, DBT-TWAS Fellowship, and DBT Bio-Care Program.

1. Senior Accounts Assistant – Up to ₹66,000/- per month | Age: 45 Years
- Essential Qualification: B.Com / BBA / CA / ICWA degree from a recognized University or Institution.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in accounts and finance in a reputed organization.
- Other Requirements: Must have adequate IT skills and working knowledge of Government Financial Rules (GFR) and PFMS (Public Financial Management System).
- Job Responsibilities: Entry and verification of accounting software entries, budget updating and reporting, verifying claims/bills/vouchers, examining financial documents of programme beneficiaries for fellowship disbursement, preparation of Utilization Certificates (UC) and Statement of Expenditure (SE), assisting Project Manager in financial matters of PMU, and any other task assigned from time to time.
2. Project / Grants Executive – Up to ₹60,000/- per month | Age: 45 Years
- Essential Qualification (Option i): M.Tech / M.Sc / B.Tech degree in Biotechnology or any area of Life Sciences with minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
- Essential Qualification (Option ii): Graduate or Post Graduate degree in any discipline with minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience: Minimum 3 or 5 years (as applicable) of experience in coordination and programme management in government, university, research institution, or reputed organization.
- Other Requirements: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Well-versed with MS Office and other office communication tools.
- Job Responsibilities: Administrative support for programme implementation, liaison with beneficiaries for document submission, preparing letters and email communications, compiling programme data/database for submission to the funding agency, addressing queries and grievances of beneficiaries via email and telephone, making logistic arrangements for physical/virtual meetings, and any other task assigned.
3. Administrative Assistant – Up to ₹40,000/- per month | Age: 35 Years
- Essential Qualification: Graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized University with knowledge of computer usage.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in handling official correspondences, office management, file work, accounts and finance.
- Job Responsibilities: Drafting official communications, recording notes of meetings and preparing draft minutes, managing meeting schedules and appointment calendars of key personnel, and any other task assigned from time to time.
All educational, professional, and technical qualifications must be from a recognized Board or University. Experience will be counted only for work done after the qualifying degree for the relevant position.

Key Terms and Conditions – RCB DBT-HRD PMU Contractual Posts 2026
- The appointment is on a full-time contractual basis up to 10 February 2027, extendable subject to project extension and satisfactory performance.
- The contract will be subject to periodic performance evaluation. If performance is found unsatisfactory, the contract can be terminated with one month’s notice.
- Selected candidates will not be permitted to take up any other assignment during the contract period.
- This contractual appointment does not guarantee regular employment or absorption at RCB. Candidates cannot claim regularization.
- Candidates currently in Government service / PSU must apply through proper channel or produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of selection.
- Government employees selected must ensure relieving within 30 days of receiving the offer letter. No extension of the joining period will be entertained.
- Age relaxation as per GoI norms is available for eligible categories. In other deserving cases, the Competent Authority may grant age/experience relaxation.
