The NAKSHA Scheme is a Government of India initiative focused on the modernization of land records, cadastral mapping, and geospatial data management across states and union territories. SPMU Punjab is looking for experienced professionals in GIS technology, land administration, IT development, remote sensing, and programme management to support the implementation of this important scheme in the state of Punjab.

All posts are contractual in nature with an initial tenure of one year. The tenure may be extended based on performance and project requirements. Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply.
Eligibility Criteria – Punjab NAKSHA Scheme Recruitment 2026 Post-wise Qualification
1. Project Coordinator – ₹1,50,000/- per month
- Education: Master’s in Engineering / Business Administration / Development Studies / Social Work OR Bachelor’s in Engineering / Science or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in implementing and coordinating projects related to Central/State Government programmes or public/private sector schemes. Proven track record in data analysis, project management, coordination, and leadership skills.
- Age Limit: Upper age limit 45 years as on last date of application.
2. Expert (Land Administration) – ₹1,50,000/- per month
- Experience: Retired Civil Service Officers with a minimum of 10 years of experience in land administration, revenue, registration, consolidation, or survey.
- Age Limit: Upper age limit 70 years as on date of application.
3. Manager (Geospatial Technology) – ₹1,20,000/- per month (2 Posts)
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology from a recognized University in a relevant field such as Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Geomatics Engineering, or related disciplines. GATE qualified and GIS/Data analysis certification with knowledge of ArcGIS/QGIS is desirable.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in managing and executing GIS-related projects. Proficiency in ArcGIS, QGIS and other GIS tools for spatial data processing, mapping and database management.
- Age Limit: Upper age limit 35 years as on date of application.
4. Programmer (MIS & GIS Developer) – ₹1,00,000/- per month
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science, preferably Computer Science or Information Technology. Master’s in CS/IT is desirable.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in database administration, design, implementation, optimisation and maintenance. Proficiency in GIS-based software tool development with a track record of deploying solutions.
- Age Limit: Upper age limit 35 years as on date of application.
5. GIS Technical Expert – ₹1,00,000/- per month (2 Posts)
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering OR Master’s in Computer Applications / Geo-informatics or relevant fields. Master’s in Engineering is desirable.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in development of GIS-based software tools. Demonstrated proficiency in designing, developing and implementing GIS solutions to meet project requirements.
- Age Limit: Upper age limit 35 years as on date of application.
6. Remote Sensing Analyst – ₹80,000/- per month
- Education: Bachelor’s in Engineering OR Master’s in Computer Applications / Geo-informatics or relevant fields. Master’s in Engineering is desirable.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in maintaining High Resolution Satellite Imageries using software like ERDAS Imagine, LPS, QGIS, ArcGIS. Proficiency in Ortho rectification, mosaicking and satellite data analysis.
- Age Limit: Upper age limit 35 years as on date of application.
7. Data Entry Operator – ₹45,000/- per month
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in any stream.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years with proficient typing skills in English or Punjabi preferred. Valid certification in MS Word and MS Excel from a recognized ISO-certified institute is desirable.
- Age Limit: Upper age limit 35 years as on date of application.
Candidates who have obtained their degrees through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode are not eligible to apply. Foreign university degree holders must produce an equivalency certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.
Selection Process – Punjab NAKSHA SPMU Recruitment 2026 (Total 100 Marks)
Selection will be done through a merit-based scoring system followed by an interview. The process is different for each post but generally follows this structure:
A. Educational Qualification – Maximum 40 Marks
Marks are awarded based on Bachelor’s/Master’s percentage. For example: 75% and above = 30 marks, 65–75% = 26 marks, 55–65% = 22 marks, 45–55% = 18 marks, below 45% = 14 marks. An additional 10 marks are given for Master’s degree holders.
B. Relevant Work Experience – Maximum 30–35 Marks
Marks are awarded based on total relevant experience verified through service certificates. More years of experience mean more marks in this section.
C. Technical Certifications & Skills – Maximum 5 Marks
For GIS-related posts, recognized certifications such as IIRS-ISRO Outreach, CDAC Geomatics Certificate, NPTEL/SWAYAM GIS Certificate, Esri Technical Certification, QGIS Proficiency Certificate or valid GATE qualification are awarded marks (2.5 marks each category).
D. Interview / Technical Interaction – 25 Marks
Only the Top 50 candidates based on screening marks will be called for interview. The interview assesses subject knowledge, understanding of NAKSHA scheme, problem-solving ability, and communication skills.
Final Selection: The final merit list is prepared by adding Screening Marks and Interview Marks. For Data Entry Operator, a mandatory Typing Test (minimum 30 WPM speed and 90% accuracy) is also part of the selection.
