Eligibility Criteria – PGIMER Senior Resident Recruitment 2026

For Senior Residents (All Medical Departments):

  • Must have a medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part-II of the Third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
  • Must be registered with the Central or State Medical Council.
  • Must have a Postgraduate degree i.e. MD/MS in the relevant specialty from an Indian University or MCI-recognized institution. For example: Anaesthesia requires MD (Anaesthesia), General Surgery requires MS (Surgery), Obst. & Gynae requires MD/MS (Obst. & Gynae), Radio-diagnosis requires MD (Radio-diagnosis), and so on.

For Senior Residents in Dentistry (OHSC):

  • Must have a recognized Dental qualification under the Dentist Act, 1948.
  • Must be registered with the Central or State Dental Council.
  • Must have MDS in the relevant specialty such as Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, Prosthodontics, or Periodontics.

For Senior Demonstrators (Non-Medical):

  • Health Economics: M.A./M.Sc. in Health Economics OR M.P.H. along with Ph.D.
  • Nutrition: M.A./M.Sc. in Nutrition/Applied Nutrition OR M.P.H. along with Ph.D.
  • Virology: M.Sc. in the concerned subject along with Ph.D. in the subject or allied subject.

For Junior Demonstrators (Community Medicine & SPH):

  • Epidemiology: M.A./M.Sc. in Epidemiology or Biostatistics, or MPH.
  • Health Promotion: M.A./M.Sc. in Health Promotion, Health Education, Sociology, Psychology, or MPH.

Selection Process – PGIMER Senior Resident Vacancy 2026

The selection process for PGIMER Recruitment 2026 is a two-stage process consisting of a Computer Based Test followed by a Departmental Interview and Assessment. Here is the complete method explained:
