General Conditions – TIFR Mumbai Jobs 2026
- All posts are tenable at TIFR, Colaba, Mumbai. Selected candidates may also be transferred to other TIFR Centers/Field Stations if required.
- For posts Sr. No. 1 to 5, appointment is initially for 3 years including a 1-year probation period. Continuation beyond 3 years is subject to performance review; after successful review, appointment continues till superannuation age of 60.
- Posts Sr. No. 6 to 9 are purely temporary and carry no claim for permanent or temporary appointment during or after the project/temporary period.
- A higher starting salary may be considered for deserving candidates for posts Sr. No. 1 to 5.
- Selected candidates will be required to work on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays as per the Institute’s requirements.
- Library Trainee (Sr. No. 7) candidates will work in shifts between 07:45 hrs and 21:00 hrs.
- National Pension System (NPS) is applicable for posts Sr. No. 1 to 5 unless already governed by CCS (Pension) Rules 1972.
