KVAFSU Teaching Recruitment 2026 – Eligibility Criteria and Educational Qualification Required
For Professor Posts (Pay Scale Rs. 1,44,200 – 2,18,200):
- A Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science / Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry / Dairy Science / Fisheries Science in the concerned discipline from SAU / SVU / Deemed University or any other recognized university.
- A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) or an equivalent grade in a point-scale in the concerned/allied subject from SAU / SVU / Deemed University or any other recognized university.
- An eminent scholar holding a Ph.D degree in the concerned/Allied Subject as notified by the university, with published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with a minimum of 10 research publications in NAAS rated / UGC listed journals.
- A minimum of 10 years of Teaching / Research / Extension experience in a University/College as Assistant Professor/Associate Professor, out of which two years of service in the cadre of Associate Professor (pay band Rs. 1,31,400 – 2,17,100) shall be mandatory.
- Knowledge of Kannada is mandatory. Candidates who did not study Kannada as first/second/third language at SSLC level must qualify a Kannada language test (maximum 150 marks, minimum 50% to qualify) before being eligible for interview.

KVAFSU Teaching Recruitment 2026 – Kalyana Karnataka Cadre and Residual Cadre Rules
The Kalyana Karnataka Cadre posts (marked 371-J) are reserved exclusively for candidates belonging to the Kalyana Karnataka region. Candidates from the Kalyana-Karnataka region are eligible to apply for positions in both the Local Cadre (Kalyana Karnataka Cadre) and the Residual Parent Cadre.
However, if a local candidate from the Kalyana-Karnataka region is appointed to a Residual Cadre post, such candidate will not be eligible to claim reservation benefits under Article 371(J) during their entire period of service as per prevailing rules. The Kalyana Karnataka Cadre posts (marked 371-J) are reserved exclusively for candidates belonging to the Kalyana Karnataka region. Local candidates of the Kalyana-Karnataka region are eligible to apply for both the Local Cadre and the Residual Parent Cadre.
