JKSSB Advertisement 04 of 2026 – Selection Process and Scheme of Examination
The selection for all posts under JKSSB Recruitment 2026 Notification No. 04 will be made through the following stages:
- Stage 1 – Written/OMR Examination: The examination will be Objective Type with Multiple Choice Questions. Questions will be set in English language only. There will be negative marking of one-fourth (1/4) marks for each wrong answer. Selection will be based purely on merit obtained in this examination. No interview will be conducted for any post.
- Stage 2 – Document Verification (DV): Candidates shortlisted on the basis of written exam merit will be called for Document Verification. They must appear with all original documents and one set of self-attested photocopies. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in either the written examination or document verification.
The exam date, centre, and syllabus will all be notified separately on the official JKSSB website jkssb.nic.in. Admit Cards will be available for download approximately one week before the examination date.

JKSSB Advertisement 04 of 2026 – Domicile and Reservation Rules
Only candidates who are Domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir are eligible to apply. A valid Domicile Certificate issued by the Competent Authority in the prescribed format is mandatory. It must be valid on or before the cut-off date of 21 July 2026.
For reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC/RBA/EWS/ALC/IB), a valid Category Certificate in the prescribed format as per the relevant Act/S.O. must be uploaded at the time of filling the online application. Certificates in any format other than the prescribed format will not be accepted and the application will be summarily rejected. Candidates are solely responsible for obtaining certificates in the correct format before the cut-off date.
Horizontal Reservation for ESM Candidates: Ex-Servicemen (ESM) horizontal reservation is applicable for posts carrying pay up to Level-6E (₹35,900–₹1,13,500). As per S.O. 361 of 2021 dated 20.10.2021, an ESM who has already availed horizontal reservation benefits in a previous employment cannot avail the same benefit again. Such candidates must submit a duly sworn affidavit before a 1st Class Judicial Magistrate at the time of Document Verification.
PwBD Candidates: Persons with Benchmark Disabilities who are otherwise eligible may avail the facility of a Scribe and/or compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination, subject to submission of the required medical certificate from the competent Medical Board. Candidates must arrange their own scribe as per the conditions specified in the notification (Annexure-C).

JKSSB Advertisement Notification No. 04 of 2026 is an official government recruitment notice released by the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board on 25 May 2026. The application fee for JKSSB Advertisement No. 04 of 2026 is ₹600/- (Rupees Six Hundred Only) for General, Open Merit, OBC, RBA, ALC/IB, and Ex-Servicemen category candidates. Yes, a valid J&K Domicile Certificate is absolutely mandatory for applying to any post under JKSSB Advertisement Notification No. 04 of 2026. Only candidates who are Domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir are eligible to apply. The Domicile Certificate must be issued by the Competent Authority in the prescribed format and must be valid on or before the cut-off date of 21 July 2026. Candidates must upload their valid Domicile Certificate while filling the online application form. Candidates who fail to produce the original Domicile Certificate during Document Verification will not be considered for selection. Candidates from outside J&K or those without a valid J&K Domicile Certificate as on the cut-off date are not eligible for any post under this notification.
The selection process for all posts under JKSSB Advertisement No. 04 of 2026 consists of two stages. The first stage is the Written/OMR Examination, which will be Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions set in English language only. Negative marking of one-fourth (0.25) marks will be applied for each wrong answer. The final merit will be prepared solely on the basis of marks obtained in this written examination. There is no interview for any post. The second stage is Document Verification, where candidates shortlisted based on written exam merit must appear with all original certificates and one set of self-attested photocopies. The exam date, centre, and syllabus will be notified separately on jkssb.nic.in. Admit Cards will be available for download approximately one week before the exam date.
Yes, a candidate can apply for multiple Item Numbers under JKSSB Advertisement No. 04 of 2026, provided they are eligible for each post they are applying for. However, only one online application is allowed per Item Number. If more than one application is detected for the same Item Number from the same candidate, the Board will consider only the latest submitted application. Separate application fees will need to be paid for each Item Number. Candidates must carefully indicate the Item Numbers for which they are applying and must be eligible for each of those posts. The final allotment of posts will be made on the basis of merit-cum-preferences indicated by the candidate at the time of applying.
