Eligibility Criteria – J&K Bank Apprentice Recruitment 2026

Educational Qualification:

  • Candidates must be Graduates from a recognized University or Institute.
  • Graduation must have been passed on or after 01 January 2022. Candidates who passed before this date are not eligible.
  • The candidate must be proficient in the local or official language of the respective region and must have studied that language as a subject in 10th or 12th standard.

Important Note on Work Experience: Candidates who have undergone training or have job experience of one year or more after attaining their educational qualifications are NOT eligible to apply for this apprenticeship. Similarly, candidates previously terminated from apprenticeship training due to their own misconduct are also not eligible.

Age is calculated as on 01 January 2026.
Minimum Age: 20 Years
Maximum Age: 28 Years
Age relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD and other reserved categories as per Government of India guidelines.

Stipend Details – J&K Bank Apprentice 2026

Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend as follows:

  • Total Monthly Stipend: ₹13,500 per month
  • Bank’s Share: ₹9,000 per month (paid directly by J&K Bank)
  • Government’s Share (DBT): ₹4,500 per month (paid through Direct Benefit Transfer by Government agency, only for candidates under 35 years of age at the time of contract issuance)
  • Conveyance Allowance: Up to ₹1,250 per month

Important: DBT amount of ₹4,500 will only be paid to first-time apprentices who have not previously undergone apprenticeship training under any organization. No other allowances or benefits are applicable during the training period.

Training Details – J&K Bank Apprenticeship Program

  • Training Duration: 12 Months (1 Year)
  • Training Hours: 10 AM to 5 PM (Normal working hours as applicable to workmen cadre)
  • Leave: 12 days casual leave during the entire apprenticeship period
  • Location: Training will be provided in the district or region where the candidate has been selected

After successful completion of training, apprentices will receive a Certificate of Proficiency (COP) issued by the concerned Regional Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT) on behalf of the Central Government.

Negative Marking: Yes. For every wrong answer, 1/4th (0.25) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted. No penalty for unattempted questions.

Special Benefit for J&K and Ladakh Domicile Candidates

  • Candidates who successfully complete the apprenticeship program and receive a completion certificate will get 1 year of age relaxation for appointment in Banking Associate cadre in J&K Bank (applicable only for domicile candidates of UTs of J&K and Ladakh).
  • An additional 2.5% of maximum marks (i.e., 2.5 marks out of 100) will be added to the score obtained in the online written test, exclusively for domicile candidates of UTs of J&K and Ladakh, subject to total marks not exceeding maximum marks.
