- Stage 1 – Written Test (Computer Based Test / CBT): The written test will be conducted online in CBT mode covering both theoretical and practical knowledge of the candidate as per the prescribed syllabus (Annexure-A). The question paper consists of 180 items/questions. There are four parts — Part I (Languages: General English and General Hindi), Part II (General Awareness, Reasoning, Computer Literacy), Part III (Education and Leadership Perspective), and Part IV (Subject Specific Questions — 100 marks). For TGT (Maths), questions are 50% each from Maths and Physics. For TGT (Science), questions are 40% from Biology, 30% from Chemistry, and 30% from Physics. Candidates must secure a minimum of 40% marks in each subject within the CBT and an overall aggregate of 50% to qualify the written test. Based on the Written Test performance, candidates will be shortlisted for the Skill Test in a 1:5 ratio with a minimum of 10 candidates per category.
- Stage 2 – Skill Test (Purely Qualifying): The Skill Test is a chalk-and-board-based teaching demonstration test evaluated on 100 marks. The minimum qualifying marks in the Skill Test is 60%. Each candidate will be given a subject-oriented topic and must demonstrate their subject knowledge and teaching ability by handling a class. The Skill Test is purely qualifying in nature and its marks will not be added to the final merit list.
Final Selection: Final selection will be made purely on the basis of marks obtained in the Written Test from among candidates who qualify the Skill Test. In case of a tie in written test scores, the first tie-breaker will be the academic marks of the essential qualification (PG / Graduation / Senior Secondary as applicable). The second tie-breaker, if required, will be the candidate’s age — the senior (older) candidate will be placed first. No Travelling Allowance is payable for attending the Written Test. Outstation candidates called for the Skill Test will be reimbursed actual second-class railway fare or normal bus fare (whichever is less) from the address mentioned in the online application, on production of travel proof.
