IIT Jammu Non Teaching Recruitment 2026 – Overview

The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu has invited online applications from Indian Nationals for recruitment to various
Group A, Group B and Group C Non-Teaching posts. This recruitment drive aims to strengthen administrative,
technical, laboratory and sports infrastructure of the Institute.

IIT Jammu is one of India’s premier technical institutions established under the IIT Act and functioning under the
Ministry of Education, Government of India. The selected candidates will receive attractive pay as per
7th Central Pay Commission along with admissible allowances.

Eligibility Criteria – Post Wise

Public Relations Officer

• Master’s Degree in Mass Communication / Journalism with minimum 60% marks OR
• Master’s Degree in any discipline with PG Diploma in Journalism & Mass Communication
• Minimum 5 years experience in print/electronic media or as PRO in a recognized institution

Assistant Registrar

• Master’s Degree in any discipline with minimum 60% marks
• At least 5 years administrative experience in Govt./University/PSU

Sports Officer

• Master’s Degree in Physical Education / Sports Science with relevant experience OR
• B.P.Ed with minimum 7 years experience
• Representation at State/National level mandatory

Fire and Safety Officer

• Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 60% marks
• Diploma/Certification in Fire & Safety Management
• Minimum 5 years experience in Fire Fighting services

Senior Laboratory Officer / Laboratory Officer

• Master’s/Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering/Science
• Relevant experience as prescribed in notification

Junior Section Officer / Senior Assistant / Laboratory Assistant

• Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree or Diploma with required experience
• Working knowledge of computer applications preferred

Salary Structure (7th CPC)

• Group A (Level-10): ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500 per month
• Group B (Level-8): ₹47,600 – ₹1,51,100 per month
• Group B (Level-6): ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400 per month
• Group C (Level-5): ₹29,200 – ₹92,300 per month

Age Limit (As on 03 February 2026)

• Group A Posts: Maximum 45 Years
• Group B Posts: 35 – 40 Years
• Group C Posts: Maximum 33 Years
• Age relaxation applicable as per Government of India rules
