CSL Recruitment 2025 – Overview
Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), a leading public sector shipbuilding and ship repair company under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Government of India, has announced recruitment for its Workmen Category 2025. Note: Out of 34 Assistant posts, 2 are reserved for PwBD category. CSL reserves the right to modify the number of posts as per requirement.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility varies for each post:
- Senior Ship Draftsman: 3-year diploma in relevant engineering discipline with 2 years experience. Desirable: CAD/3D modeling experience.
- Junior Technical Assistant: Diploma in relevant branch (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Civil/Instrumentation) with 4 years post-qualification experience. Desirable: PLC/SCADA, HVAC, Air compressors, civil construction experience.
- Laboratory Assistant: Diploma/B.Sc in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or Chemistry, 4 years experience in labs. Desirable: NABL lab experience, analytical instruments.
- Storekeeper: Graduate with PG Diploma in Materials Management or Diploma in Engineering with 4 years storekeeping experience.
- Assistant: Graduate (Arts, Science, Commerce, Computer Applications, Business Administration) with 4 years office/ERP/data entry experience. Desirable: MS Office, SAP, Tally.
- Applicants with higher qualifications than required (B.Tech/M.Sc) without prescribed diploma will not be considered.
Age Limit
- Maximum Age: 35 years as on 12/01/2026 (born on or after 13/01/1991)
- OBC (NCL): +3 years
- SC: +5 years
- PwBD (Storekeeper & Assistant): up to 50 years depending on category
- Ex-Servicemen: as per govt rules
Salary / Pay Scale
Selected candidates will receive the following emoluments:

Selection Process
- Senior Ship Draftsman: Phase I – Objective Online Test (70 marks, 75 mins); Phase II – Practical CAD Test (30 marks). Minimum pass: UR/EWS 50%, OBC 45%, SC 40%
- Other Posts: Part 1 – Objective Online Test (70 marks, 75 mins); Part 2 – Descriptive Test (30 marks, 60 mins). Minimum pass: UR/EWS 50%, OBC 45%, SC/PwBD 40%
- No negative marking. Exam centers in Kerala. Rank list valid for 18 months.
