CISF Para Medical Staff Recruitment 2026 – Complete Selection Process

The selection process for CISF Para Medical Staff Recruitment 2026 consists of the following stages conducted in sequence (the order may change at CISF’s discretion):

  • Stage 1 – Written Examination (OMR/CBT): The written test will be for 100 marks to be completed in a 2-hour duration. All questions will be Objective Multiple Choice type, set in both English and Hindi (bilingual). Questions will test trade-specific knowledge for each post — Pharmacy, Radiology, or Medical Laboratory Technology. There is no negative marking. The exam will be conducted in OMR or Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. If conducted in multiple shifts, scores will be normalized. Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be shortlisted for the next stage in a ratio of approximately 5 times the number of vacancies.
  • Stage 2 – Physical Standard Test (PST): Candidates shortlisted from the written exam will appear for height, chest, and weight measurement before a Board of Officers. The physical standards differ by category and region as mentioned above. Candidates who do not meet the physical standards will be eliminated and issued a rejection slip. However, candidates may prefer an appeal to the Appellate Authority on the same day if they feel the measurement is incorrect — the decision of the Appellate Authority will be final.
  • Stage 3 – Documentation: Original documents and certificates of all candidates who clear PST will be verified. Candidates failing to produce required originals will be eliminated. Documents verified include Educational Certificates, Date of Birth Certificate, Category Certificates (SC/ST/OBC/EWS), Discharge Certificate (for ESM), etc. Biometric credentials (fingerprints) of all candidates will also be registered at this stage.
  • Stage 4 – Basic Vocational Aptitude Test (BVAT): After PST and Documentation, all qualified candidates will appear in the BVAT to assess their trade-specific suitability. The BVAT is qualifying in nature — marks scored in BVAT will not count towards the final merit list.
  • Stage 5 – Medical Examination (DME/RME): Only candidates who qualify in PST, Documentation, and BVAT will appear for the Detailed Medical Examination (DME). Candidates declared unfit in DME can give written consent for a Review Medical Examination (RME) — preferably conducted the next day. The candidate must submit their consent within 24 hours of being declared unfit. Candidates will be declared either FIT or UNFIT — no temporary unfit status will be given. Candidates with Knock Knees, Flat Foot, Varicose Veins, or Squint in eyes will be declared unfit.
  • Stage 6 – Final Select List: After completion of all stages, a category-wise merit list for UR, SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and ESM will be drawn based on marks obtained in the Written Examination. Final result will be published on cisfrectt.cisf.gov.in. In case of a tie in written exam marks, it will be resolved by: (i) Age — older candidate gets preference; (ii) Height — taller candidate preferred; (iii) Higher educational qualification; (iv) Alphabetical order of name.
