RailTel Apprenticeship 2026 Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Full-time Regular Four Years Graduation in Engineering/Technology, or Full-time Regular Three Years Diploma in Engineering/Technology (from colleges approved by AICTE), with an aggregate of 60% marks in the stream/branch of Electronics & Telecommunication, Telecommunication, Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or any other combination of Engineering branches where Electronics is one of the main branches (such as Electronics & Instrumentation). Candidates who have passed Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations (India), or the Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India) in the above-mentioned relevant branches, are also eligible.
  • No Prior Work Experience: No engineering graduate or diploma holder who has undergone or is currently possessing training/job/work experience for a period of one year or more after attaining the qualification shall be eligible for engagement as an apprentice under the Act.
  • Recency of Qualification: Candidates who have completed three years post their graduation/diploma will not be considered for apprenticeship.
  • Age Limit: 18 to 27 years as on the date of notification, i.e., 28 July 2026 (relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Presidential/Governmental Directives).
  • Not Currently/Previously Apprenticed Elsewhere: Candidates who have already completed their apprenticeship, terminated it mid-way, or are currently pursuing an apprenticeship with any other organization are NOT eligible.
  • Mode of Study: Candidates who obtained their qualification through distance learning or part-time mode are NOT eligible to apply.

RailTel Apprenticeship 2026 – Selection Process

On receipt of the online application through the NATS 2.0 portal, a merit list will be prepared region/state/location-wise, with preference given to Government Institution pass-outs. Shortlisting of candidates will be done based on this merit list — considering marks obtained in the required qualification — and/or through an interview, as required. Only candidates found medically fit as per RailTel’s norms will be considered for final engagement. RailTel Apprenticeship 2026 – Terms & Conditions

  • The reservation policy as prescribed in the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 will be followed. In case of non-availability of candidates in reserved categories, seats will be filled from other reserved categories/general category.
  • Apprentice engagement will be strictly for a period of one year in various locations of the Northern, Western, Eastern and Southern Regions, or any other location on a Pan-India basis.
  • Apprentices shall have no right to claim regular employment from RCIL based on this apprenticeship, at any point of time. This apprenticeship shall not create any liability on RCIL for providing any job to the apprentice.
  • During the period of apprenticeship, candidates will be governed by the Apprentices Act, 1961 (as amended in 1973 and till date) and the policies/rules of the organization.
  • The candidature of candidates would be provisional and subject to subsequent verification of certificates/testimonials at any stage of the selection process. If false or incorrect information is found at any point, the candidature/engagement shall be cancelled.
  • The decision of RailTel Management will be final and binding on all candidates on all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications, and mode of selection. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
