Key Reservation Points for BPSC 72nd CCE 2026:
- Reservation benefit is available only to original residents (mool nivaasi) of Bihar. Candidates residing outside Bihar are not eligible for reservation benefits under this notification.
- As per Bihar Government notification, a total 35% horizontal reservation is applicable for women candidates who are permanent residents of Bihar — for both reserved and unreserved categories — in all the posts advertised in this notification.
- 4% horizontal reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) is applicable as per Bihar Government rules. Only Bihar domicile PwBD candidates can avail this benefit. A disability certificate from a Government Civil Surgeon / CMO is required.

BPSC 72nd CCE 2026 Exam Pattern – Preliminary, Mains (Written) and Personality Test Structure
Stage 1 – Preliminary Examination (Part-1 / Screening Test):
- The Preliminary Exam will be of General Studies subject with all Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ).
- Total duration: 2 hours. Total marks: 150.
- Each question will have five options (A, B, C, D, E). Candidates must choose one correct option. If a candidate does not wish to attempt a question, choosing option (E) is mandatory to avoid negative marking.
- Negative Marking: 1/3rd (one-third) marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- The Preliminary Exam is a screening test only. Marks scored in PT will NOT be counted in the final merit list.

How to Apply for BPSC 72nd CCE 2026 – Step by Step Online Application Guide via OTR
- Visit the official BPSC website at bpsconline.bihar.gov.in
- Complete the One Time Registration (OTR) process first by clicking on “New User Registration.” OTR is mandatory for all candidates applying for any BPSC examination. OTR is not an application — it is only for creating your profile on the BPSC portal. Your OTR credentials will be used for all future BPSC applications.

BPSC 72nd CCE 2026 Saarni-I includes 22 types of posts across different departments such as — Anumandal Padhaadhikari (SDM/SDO), DSP (Police), Rajya Kar Sahayak Aayukt, Nirvachan Padhaadhikari, Shram Adhikshak, Sahayak Nibandhak, Iksh Padhaadhikari, Probeshon Padhaadhikari, Nagar Karyapalak Padhaadhikari, Grameen Vikas Padhaadhikari, Rajaswa Adhikari (Revenue Officer), Prakhand Panchayat Raj Padhaadhikari, Sahkarita Prasar Padhaadhikari, Shram Pravarttan Padhaadhikari, Aapurti Nirikshak, and others — all at Level-6, Level-7, or Level-9. Saarni-II includes CDPO (Bal Vikas Pariyojana Padhaadhikari), FAO (Vitteeya Prashasnik Padhaadhikari evam Samaksh), and Anumandal Sanrakshan Padhaadhikari (Women Only post). Each post in Saarni-II has different educational qualification requirements.
