SLPRB Assam Forest Guard Recruitment 2026 – Overview
The State Level Police Recruitment Board, Assam has initiated this large-scale recruitment to strengthen the
Forest Department, APRO, Fire & Emergency Services and allied units of Assam.
The selection process is completely transparent and merit-based, involving
Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST), Written Examination, Walking Test, Trade/Skill Tests and Viva-Voce.
Selected candidates will receive salary as per 7th Pay Commission (Pay Band-1 & Pay Band-2) along with allowances.

Educational Qualification (Post-wise)
- Forester Grade-I: Bachelor Degree in any discipline from a recognized University.
- Sub-Officer & Constable (WO/WT): H.S. (Science) passed with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.
- Fireman & Emergency Rescuer: H.S. (Science) passed.
- Forest Guard / Game Watcher: H.S. (10+2) or equivalent.
- AFPF Constable, Constable Grade-III, Bandman, Bugler: HSLC or equivalent.
- Boatman: HSLC passed + swimming proficiency mandatory.
Age Limit (as on 01-01-2026)
- Sub-Officer: 20 to 24 years
- Forester Grade-I / Forest Guard / Game Watcher: 18 to 40 years
- AFPF Constable / Fireman / Emergency Rescuer / Boatman: 18 to 25 years
- Age Relaxation: SC/ST – 5 years, OBC/MOBC – 3 years, Ex-Servicemen – as per rules
Salary / Pay Scale
Selected candidates will receive salary as per 7th Pay Commission:
- Pay Band-2: ₹14,000 – ₹70,000 + Grade Pay ₹5,000 to ₹6,400
- Pay Band-1 (Boatman): ₹12,000 – ₹52,000 + Grade Pay ₹4,200
- Additional benefits include DA, HRA, medical facilities and other allowances.
Selection Process – Step by Step
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Running and long jump (40 marks).
- Physical Standard Test (PST): Height & chest measurement.
- Written Examination: OMR-based objective test.
- Walking Test: For Forest Guard & Forester posts only.
- Trade / Skill Test: For Bandman, Bugler & Boatman.
- Oral / Viva-Voce: Final assessment.
