RBI Office Attendant Recruitment 2026 – 572 Vacancies Notification Details

Reservation & Category Instructions

Reservation for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen categories will be provided as per Government of India rules. OBC candidates belonging to the creamy layer are not eligible for reservation and must apply under the General category.

EWS reservation is provisional and subject to verification of Income and Asset Certificate. PwBD candidates must possess valid disability certificates as prescribed under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.

Functional Requirements for PwBD Candidates

PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) candidates are eligible for horizontal reservation within overall vacancies. Functional requirements and suitable categories of benchmark disabilities include:

Guidelines for PwBD Candidates

  • Must possess a latest permanent disability certificate issued by a Competent Authority as per RPwD Act, 2016.
  • Backlog vacancies reserved for PwBD will be filled by eligible PwBD candidates as per category and suitability.
  • Visually impaired candidates (≥40% disability) can view test content in magnified font and get 20 minutes compensatory time per hour.
  • Candidates with physical limitations in typing/writing may use a scribe; rules and undertakings apply.
  • Less than 40% disability candidates may use scribe/compensatory time with certificate from competent medical authority.

Ex-Servicemen Guidelines

  • Ex-Servicemen include those released/retired as per Government of India notifications.
  • Disabled Ex-Servicemen and dependents of servicemen killed in action get age relaxation and horizontal reservation.
  • Reservation for Disabled Ex-Servicemen and dependents is 4.5% of total vacancies.
  • Ex-Servicemen must submit release letter and self-declaration at joining.
  • Re-employed Ex-Servicemen in central govt jobs can avail age relaxation but not reservation benefit twice.

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality: Indian, Nepali, Bhutanese, Tibetan refugees (before 1 Jan 1962), or persons of Indian origin from specified countries with certificate of eligibility.
Age Limit (as on 01/01/2026): 18–25 years. Relaxations apply as: SC/ST +5 yrs, OBC +3 yrs, PwBD 10–15 yrs, Ex-Servicemen service period +3 yrs (max 50 yrs), Widows/divorced women up to 35–40 yrs, RBI experience up to 3 yrs.

Educational Qualifications

  • Passed 10th Standard (S.S.C./Matriculation) from recognized Board of concerned State/UT under Regional Office applied for.
  • Must be undergraduate as on 01/01/2026; graduates or higher not eligible.
  • Ex-Servicemen: 10th Standard + 15 years defence service.
  • Proficiency in Official/Local language of State/UT of applying office is mandatory.

Selection is based on Online Test and Language Proficiency Test (LPT). LPT is qualifying and in Official/Local Language.

Service Conditions & Career Prospects

  • Starting basic pay: ₹24,250/- per month; gross emoluments approx. ₹46,029/- per month (without HRA).

  • Nature of work: Class IV duties including movement/dispensation of files, office utility tasks, dak delivery, photocopying, assisting in routine work, and other tasks assigned by seniors.

  • Signature: Black ink on white paper, 140 × 60 pixels, 10–20 KB, JPEG.
  • Left Thumb Impression: Black/blue ink, 240 × 240 pixels, 20–50 KB, JPEG. If unavailable, right thumb allowed.
  • Handwritten Declaration: English, black ink, 800 × 400 pixels, 50–100 KB, JPEG. Text: “I, _______ (Name), hereby declare that all information submitted in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present supporting documents as required.”
  • All images must be clear and properly uploaded; otherwise application may be rejected.

Edit Window for Online Application

  • After the closing date, candidates get a limited “Edit Window” to correct: Exam Centre, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, 10th/12th Percentage.
  • Correction fee: ₹200/- (inclusive of GST), non-refundable.
  • Only latest modified application treated as valid. Multiple applications: edit latest only.
  • No other fields can be edited post submission. After Edit Window closes, no modifications allowed.
